Socks are designed primarily for your feet (unless you sew on 2 buttons and pretend it's a hand-puppet) - this may be where you are going wrong. Excessive use of the hand puppet to entertain your friends, video for YouTube, earn a few extra pennies as a children's party amusement consultant, to name but a few, will result in a hole in the thumb location. In common with most humans, there is no thumb on the foot, just a big toe (try looking up the rhyme This Little Piggy Went to Market) and four others. I think if you revert to wearing the sock on your feet (for which they were intended when you purchased them) you should rid yourself of the often under-rated thumb-sock wear syndrome. |
